It was a pleasure to get to know Gus over the years. He was a good straight thinking, honest, dependable man. When he worked for the Town of Sheridan, he was the best maintenance man they had had. When he worked for JDL, he was very dependable, knew how to accomplish many, many tasks in an efficeient manner. I think Gus was most proud of his accomplishments on the Fenton Ranch - building a house for a good home for his family, renovating and improving irrigation on meadows to get better production and the ever increasing weaning weights of the calf crop through good nutrition and breeding practices. Improving the corrals and building the barn were major accomplishments. Gus never gave up improving - from helping Kathleen rebuild the historic Fenton House to being the inspiration to referbish the manure spreader. Gus seemed to always have the time, or would make time, to help neighbors when they needed an extra hand. Even though Gus' life was cut short, he certainly made his mark while he was here. Kathleen, Thank You for bringing Gus to Sheridan so we could get to know him! Gus will be missed and never forgotten! I would be willing to bet the Good Lord isn't giving Gus any rest as He has already sent Gus on his first Angel Mission to help someone! Knowing Gus, he wouldn't want to be sitting around anyway! God bless all of you during your time of grieving for the loss of Gus, husband, dad and grandfather. Our prayers are with you!

So the healing begins, but it will be a long road for many of us who knew Gus on this earth. I truly love Gus. He taught me so many things. Foremost, how to be a man - more so, how to be a Christian Man. He lived his faith each and every day. For what he did for me, I am forever grateful. Until we meet again, Gus Wuelfing, fare thee well.

How grateful we are for our knowledge the eternal nature of the soul of man. We know that we will be reunited with this giant of a man in a time to come. Thanks so much Gus and Kathleen for showing us how to stand up to the stiff winds of adversity with faith. We all grew through this experience. Brenda treasures each of the the experiences she had with Uncle Gus. We love you and pray that the Lord will continue to strenghten and comfort each of you. Love,

Adam, Brenda, Audrey, Dean, Coleman, Trent, Aaron and Janet McBride

Thank you, Jesus, for Gus' heart, for filling it with your love and letting him spill it everywhere he went. Sheridan will not be the same place without him, but is so better for having had him around. Enjoy your time cutting up with him, he's been looking forward to it, I'm sure. Cover those left with your peace and comfort during this time. Your name be praised, Amen.
Kathleen, Love you and miss you. Wish I was there.

I met Gus once--last year--when we stayed at Fenton House. Ever since, he has stayed in our hearts and prayers. He was the kindest, warmest man. We have pictures of him in family photo albums. Kathleen--we are all praying for you and thinking of you. Thank you for opening your home and heart to us.

We will truly miss seeing Gus on our summer visits at our house up the street from you. He was a dedicated hard worker who always seem to have a smile on his face. He always lent us a helping if we needed one and he always stopped by to say hello when we were there.
He was a great guy Kathleen with a wonderful family.
Lots of love to you and your family.
